1 Choose an Origin
A character has 2 choices to be made for their origin. The ancestral origin and the personal origin. Both describe the defining features and experiences that your character has.
The ancestral origin mostly describes your character's physical features, their upbringing or their creation.
An ancestral origin gives you natural features and languages.
The personal origin describe your characters most influential background before becoming an adventurer. It could be an event, a trade or special circumstances.

A Power Source gives you 1 point in an action resource pool. It also always gives you 2 attribute raises and a weakness.
- Choose an power souce and maybe an option within one
- Increase your action pool size

A Power Path gives you actions or effects that use action resources. It also gives you 1 point in an action resource pool.
A power path gives you a choice of skill raises and also lets you choose one or more of either spells or talents. It also determines your trainings in basics and defenses.

Check your character
At level 1 your attributes can't be higher than 4. So any raises you can choose can't be for your key attribute (as this is already 4). The total of your attributes should add up to 8.
Your character should have 2 Origins, 1 Power Source and 1 Power Path and a choice of talents or spells from your Power Path.
Your character now gains an empty slot for a background talent. This has to be filled during play to level up.
